I voted for the Democratic candidate for president from 1964 to 2020. In 2024 I didn’t vote. Here’s my reason. If you have seen it before I’m sorry, if not enjoy.

After the election the Democratic Party (my party) must rethink many of its policies as it ponders its future.

To be entrusted with power again Democrats must start listening to the concerns of the working class for a change. As a lifelong moderate Democrat I share their disdain for many of the insane positions advocated by my party. We are no longer the patriotic, sensible party of FDR and JFK.

Democrat politicians defy biology by believing that men can actually become women and belong in women’s sports, rest rooms, locker rooms and prisons and that gay kids should be mutilated in pursuit of the impossible.

They believe borders should be open to millions of illegals which undermines workers’ wages and the affordability of housing when we can’t house our own citizens.

They discriminate against whites, Asians and men in a futile effort to counter past discrimination against others and undermine our economy by abandoning merit selection of students and employees.

Democratic mayors allow the homeless to destroy our beautiful cities because they won't say no to destructive behavior. No, you can’t camp in our city. No, you can’t shit in our streets. No, you can’t shoot up and leave your used needles everywhere. Many of our prosecutors will not take action against shoplifting unless a $1000 of goods are stolen leading to gangs destroying retail stores. They release criminals without bail to commit more crimes.

The average voter knows this is happening and outright reject our party. Enough.

It is very strange how far afield the Democrat party has strayed. Truly into fantasyland in some regards. What's even stranger is how many people have gone along. Until they couldn't anymore because the destructiveness of the ideology was too apparent. So glad you and growing numbers of others have refused to continue supporting the insanity.

Beautiful article Leah - thanks! It’s nice to remember that we can find joy and love in both celebratory and fearful moments. And that dark times can be turned around in a relatively short space of time and in the most amazing ways! Who would have thought today was possible four years ago?

I liked this so much that I read it twice.so thankful for the ability to reign in my fear and stay present. it doesn’t last as long as that rainbow, which I remember so well, but I am working on it. thank you for opening your heart and sharing so that others like myself might might see this reflected in our daily lives and let go,not just tomorrow but everyday in so many other ways it might make possible the shining of rainbows longer in our lives

WOW! Leah, I sure hope that you have "a safety net" under you! 😲 If (IF!) we decide that we will be reporters, it seems to me that we should be determined to report THE TRUTH to our readers.

I believe that we should all be in mourning tomorrow! 😥 IMPO (In My Prayerful Opinion!) Trump "The King of COVID-19" just might bring this human age on Planet Earth to an end by being the ruler of the U.S. in Revelation 13:18. HOW? By enforcing "The Mark of the Beast: CHRISTIANITY"! Biden or Harris could do the same if they had been put in by The Christian Vatican in Rome. This verse states that those with wisdom will understand THIS. 😊 All Christians are Roman Catholic in belief because bogus Christianity began (from pagan roots) in The Third Century A.D. in Rome! I report publicly and freely on MeWe. ETERNAL LIFE BLESSINGS FOR YAHWEH'S SAINTS! 👨‍👩‍👧‍👦

The more the diapered muppet did under the watchful eye of the subordinates of the Muslim dude not from Hawaii to destroy the USA , the more strength it gave o the citizens who said enough. 77 million spoke. The Donald has returned. Board the 🚆. Do the 🩰. There was no joy with Jill and Joe. What many of us did after the 2020 steal is simply roll up our sleeves and get to work. Our borders are secure. Build back better. The Ukraine charade. There was work to do to change direction. The 🌈 protection was well received. GOD is good. HE protected DJT from assassination. Let us pray 🙏.

I do agree that the intrusions and abuses of the Leftist power grab motivated the Resistance to take it back. Thank God.

Ironically, I think it's worth considering that if Trump had held onto the presidency in 2020, we more than likely would not be poised to see the Deep State dismantled, the "Swamp" finally drained, nor would we have witnessed the mass migration of former Trump haters who have swelled the ranks of MAGA. MAHA would not be empowered.

Everything that's happened, including . . . maybe especially . . . the suffering and loss, the Left's stochastic violence, is what opened people's eyes to see what needs to be done, and how. Even Trump's eyes . . . especially Trump's eyes. It is always the way of Providence that good things are provided from the bad; the arduous climb out of the dark valley has allowed the perspective and courage needed to be recognized, cultivated, and spread. Let us pray, indeed, and give thanks.
