Truth to power, baby!

Curiosity and questioning are essential elements of scientific inquiry in my humble opinion - not that I’m a scientist, I work in a field of applied science. It can be argued that vaccines have helped millions, but the fact that they have harmed others, particularly infants and children, and the scientific community has not been able to properly investigate this issue and modify the vaccines themselves, based on scientific methods and proper studies, seems almost criminal to me. This has to be addressed. I am so glad RFK Jr is now HHS secretary.

💯!! It sure seems like having vaccines that are effective AND safe, and making sure we understand why they *definitively are not safe* for some children, would be the logical, humane, sane system. But as I pointed out in a different comment, the incentives were totally perverse, opposite to those needed to prioritize safety. I think we can assume that will begin to change now. 🙏🏻

I recall the controversy regarding the whooping cough (pertussis) component of DPT vaccine in the 70s and 80s. My wife insisted and prevailed of not having our kids vaccinated with it. The schools in CA required it but my wife got a waiver for that component. Later, the vaccine was changed to be safer.

Yes, I remember when they switched over the the DTaP in the mid-nineties. Definitely safer than DPT...which GAVI (Bill Gates) still gives to Africa's children—it's cheaper to make. But at this point the vaccine safety issues have broadened to the sheer number of vaccines with their toxic ingredients (eg. aluminum adjuvant, ) injected into children—over 50 by the time they turn 5. Our regulatory agencies haven't studied the cumulative impact of adding more and more shots to the schedule, strangely enough....

Well said Momma “anti vaxxer/ pro safety and informed consent”

Long time in coming that vaccines would be challenged. RFK is the point man tip of the spear.

Unfortunately or fortunately Covid the con overplayed the vaxxines now we are here!!

I started this path in 1996 last son born got no vaccines.

1986 you can see the vaccine schedule increase by

Number of shots and the graph of autism followed

Parallel.

Long time coming vaccine hesitancy and scrutiny needs asap to reevaluate every shot given.

Time to kill Sacred Cows for the babies mothers families yet to come.

Thanks, James. I've seen that graph and it's alarming. I am deeply thrilled we're at the cow-slaughtering stage. It's sure been a long time coming.

My 2 older kids got vaxxed. I was In pharma. Decided I’d do research NVIS had a small book

1996 decided no more vaccines for baby 1996.

It has been a long time!!!

Welcome Leah!

Also confirming my decision was our neighbor who had an autistic son. 24/7 nightmare.

No parent no baby no family deserves that!!!

Next phase radical transparency.

I remember questioning the vaccines schedule to my kids' pediatrician when they were two and four and being scolded and utterly disdained by the doctor. It was so annoying to him to have to deal with "one of those moms." I didn't have the depth of knowledge you do so I succumbed to his authority and believe we were very lucky. Great piece Leah.

The amount of pressure and even bullying from pediatricians over the last couple decades has been so demoralizing and aggravating. And insulting. Luckily I didn't have to experience much because I found one doctor in a group practice who was super accepting of my interest in alternative medicine and respectful of my role as mom and decision-maker for my children, so I would only ever schedule with her. On the rare sick-visit occasion when I had to deal with the other docs questioning our non-vax status, I would let them yammer on about "safe and effective" and the autism link being "thoroughly debunked" and then re-assert that I've done my research and we aren't doing vaccines—and then redirect to the issue at hand. It was soooo tiresome. When our kids got to their teens and needed annual physicals for sports or camps I just skipped the pediatricians altogether and used Minute Clinic appointments to get the forms filled out.

I pray five years from now things will have shifted dramatically, the information landscape will look totally different and these condescending docs will finally know what they didn't know. Fingers crossed...

Well-written essay.

What do you make of Bobby Kennedy's pledge not to change vaccine policy?

Expand full comment
Leah Rose's avatar

I think it's a legitimate pledge and not hard to uphold.

Bobby's goal has never been to get in there an up-end everything. I think anyone who knows him or follows him closely would tell you that. Most of what's written/reported about him is fear-porn nonsense. Literal lies and propaganda.

He has stated from the outset that his aim is to get the true gold-standard science done. His experience as a litigator has shown him that results will speak for themselves. When well-designed, Pharma-free studies are conducted there will be plenty of data that shows vaccines are not safe for everyone (what other medicine is one-size-fits-all?) because genetics can predispose some people to harm, and that the toxic load of the current schedule is damaging to developing brains and bodies. There is plenty of science already suggesting this. So I think his strategy is to do the science properly and thereby change the conversation. When it's more widely understood that vaccines are not safe regardless of how effective, the fallout will be political pressure to fix the situation. Problem solved.

Also would add that the Sec. of HHS does not establish the vaccine schedule. That is the purview of the ACIP within the CDC. So it was never a true story that he was going to "take away" anyone's vaccines. More nonsense fear-mongering propaganda.

But the CDC is run by Bobby Kennedy so he could change its processes for creating the vaccine schedule. Not that it matters much, as it's just a recommended schedule.

Thanks for your comment above that says you hope Bobby Kennedy will get the data first before making changes to the vaccine schedule. That way he can convince people to make the changes. So are you counting on Bobby Kennedy going in and conducting new clinical trials of vaccines? Or just statistical studies based on existing data?

Leah Rose's avatar

I'm sure he could make changes to the processes, or have others do it. I sure hope he, or someone under him, starts enforcing—strictly—the conflict of interest rules that are routinely waived to seat committee members. (Assuming those rules even still exist; it's been a long time since I checked up on that issue. But if they've been scrapped or loosened they need to be restored/tightened and enforced.)

Regarding the "recommended" schedule: it matters tremendously because most states mandate most of it for school attendance. That's why it was such a disgusting scandal that ACIP voted to put the COVID shots on the childhood schedule given children are far more at risk from the jabs than COVID. But of course, anyone who follows this stuff closely understands that the reason they did it was because that's how they could ensure Pfizer and Moderna would maintain their indemnification when the EUA was dropped. It is wholly corrupt and fraudulent and had *zero* to do with what actually protects the health of children.

I don't know how they are going to proceed. My guess is they will not limit themselves to either/or but pursue both/and. I'd say the two areas of greatest concern typically focused on in the vaccine safety movement are the cumulative toxic load of the current schedule, which regulators have never studied, and the fact that none of the vaccines currently on it have been tested against an inert/saline placebo. So I'd assume finding ways to test the questions around those two issues would likely be part of it.

The bottomline is that Bobby is committed to solid science because he is committed to truth. It's his north star. And it's the only means by which justice can be served, the corrupt held to account.

I just finished watching this press conference with Del Bigtree, who was RFK Jr.'s campaign communications advisor and who is now launching an independent grassroots MAHA organization. Del speaks directly to the questions you've asked me and I VERY highly recommend watching his speech and listening to him answer the reporters questions afterward. You'll end up with a much clearer idea of what Bobby's motivation is, and his priorities, goals, and avenues of approach. It's truly a worthwhile video with much better info than I can possibly provide.

Any thoughts about Bobby Kennedy's op-ed on Fox News about the measles outbreak in Texas?

Also, this article suggests things are going on behind the scenes. https://www.wsj.com/health/healthcare/rfk-jr-vaccine-hhs-agenda-bf7b9c07?st=Br1gjW&reflink=mobilewebshare_permalink

Very moving and personal piece. Thank you.

I read this on the heels of watching this video of a speech to Journalists by Del Bigtree. So powerful it brought tears to my eyes, and a glimmer of hope for some change. At least our voice will be out there. At a minimum if the obedient comprised journalists wake up and/or are called out, I will consider a victory. Here it is in case you missed it. Steve Kirsch posted it yesterday. https://x.com/SenRonJohnson/status/1890196198277149163

Hi Leah....had this essay in my list TO READ, but missed it....list is getting too long. We just had old friends over for dinner last night and somehow, RFK and the measles came up. They were completely dismissive of him...that's putting it nicely....and making fun what they incorrectly said was his claim of Vit D to cure measles...which is obviously not what he said. They have had every covid shot (and have had multiples cases of covid) and were so excited when their 12 year old granddaughter bravely got the covid vaccine as soon as it came out. I tried to make some comments to open their minds a bit as I had done some research on the Texas outbreak of measles...but I soon realized there was no point. As a principal of a grammar school, I was always in support of vaccines (which were required) as I never knew any other way to look at this issue, but I do remember hearing that my grandmother (who was a nurse in the early 1900's) felt that vaccines were dangerous. I never thought much about it, but I realized that I have changed so much in the past decade. I used to generally accept what the government and "science" said but have now lived through Trump 1, Biden and now starting with Trump 2....and I can't accept hardly anything in the news anymore. It's a bit distressing, so I am working through it. We are having my husband's brothers and their spouses over for dinner tonight and I am dreading it....they are "died in the wool leftists" who all worked in public education, are pro Biden and are big vaccine fans, and they always seem to say something that causes a strong reaction from me, although I usually try not to respond... I plan to spend a lot of time by myself in the kitchen :) .....keep up the good work. And here's to hoping we have some transparency in health policies in this administration. Ellen

IKR? Everything changed in the arena of vaccine safety with the National Childhood Vaccine Injury Act in 1986. The title may imply safeguarding children but with the manufacturers' liability shield it put in place, it turned vaccines into cash cows for Pharma companies, where maximizing profits and giving shareholders value is the true priority. The incentives were wholly perverse from that point on and conflicts of interest bloomed between government agencies and Pharma; vaccine safety was the obvious and logical casualty.
