(Re-)Announcing my new online community-building initiative
A do-over due to technical issues in Sunday's announcement
Happy Wednesday, everyone! A surprise mid-week email to rectify the tech-glitches I ran into with my original Retro Readers Solidarity Club announcement. Trying to create the club as a subsection of By My Reckoning didn’t work as it wouldn’t allow BMR subscribers to individually opt in. So I’ve created a separate blog space for interested retro readers who want to join the community of us seeking a return to the world of IRL books. You can access it here.
All Club content will be available to anyone via my Substack homepage, which can be accessed by clicking on the thumbnail photo of me. However, those who subscribe to RRSC will receive dedicated emails; if you don’t subscribe you won’t receive them. On occasion I may cross-post to By My Reckoning from the RRSC blog if a particular essay or book review strikes me as something this wider audience might appreciate. Also, retro readers will have a dedicated Chat space in which any Club member can initiate a thread.
Please read more about the new solidarity club—why it exists and who its for—by clicking the link below. Share with anyone you think might be interested and do consider subscribing if it appeals. All are welcome. Hope to see you there!
I need this. I have an overflowing library, a stack of books on my nightstand... And a backlog of Kindle books I'm trying to catch up on while I also have a webnovel and many webcomics I'm intermittently reading. It's too easy to just stay on my phone all the time. I need to get back into paperbacks and off from getting constantly distracted by notifications, news updated, and game events while I'm reading. I'll look through my shelves tomorrow for something on my "to read" list that I might feel comfortable recommending or discussing.
