As anyone who subscribes to this blog knows—which is all of you who are receiving it—I rarely publish.
I want to change that.
But not here.
I began By My Reckoning as a blog for polished content and I don’t want to change that. A) It seems rude to bait and switch when I might have subscribers here who aren’t interested in more off-the-cuff musings, and B) it feels like too much mental/emotional work to overcome the writer’s block that hits me every time I open a fresh screen here to write what’s on my mind. This space is where Polished Leah (aka Perfectionist Leah) shares her thoughts. Casual Leah (who’s struggling to be born and the labor is feeling endless, folks) needs her own, new space. A home to call her own. Hence this announcement:
This is to say: if you’re on board for less buttoned-up, more spontaneous content from me, please head over to Heart of Curiosity, my new, casual-me blog where I will try to let myself say what’s on my mind without Madame Editor Leah taking over and squelching my mojo. I’d like to make promises that it’s gonna be good, but I honestly have no idea what’s going to happen. Really.
I do promise to give it the old college try, though.
In the meantime, if you have no interest in making the leap with me, no worries. I don’t expect anyone, much less everyone, to land in my new thinking spot. However, I also can’t say when is the next time you’ll hear from me here (which, I’m sure, is not actually news to you). I do hope to not entirely abandoned this blog; there’s a lot I love about it, not least of which is that here is where I first found my voice. My dearest wish is that the new blog will inspire more content for this one. We shall hope and see . . . .
But whatever lies ahead for you in this new, likely-bumpy year, I hope you will find countless moments of contentment, joy and peace to sustain you through any trials. May 2024 add to the blessings in our lives.
Cheers, all!

Good luck with your new project!
Go for it, Leah! No judging!
